Gate access control
Access control is how people get through your gate. We install and repair keypads, call boxes, intercoms and remotes for homes, HOA communities and businesses, and quote the price before we start.

Signs it's this
- Guests, delivery drivers or caregivers cannot get in
- The keypad is worn, unresponsive or gives wrong codes
- The call box does not ring, has no audio or cannot reach your phone
- Remotes have stopped working or keep getting lost
- A community needs to manage dozens of residents and vendors
Do this now
If the gate is stuck closed and someone needs through, use the operator's manual release key to disengage the drive and move the gate slowly by hand. Keep people and cars out of the gate's path. Do not rewire a keypad or call box yourself.

Springs are rated for a set number of cycles. When one snaps, the door suddenly weighs 150 to 250 pounds.

2 Cable drum and cables
Cables fray and slip off the drum, and the door hangs crooked or stops partway.

Equipment and options
- Keypads
- Wired or wireless units where a code opens the gate. Easy to use and simple to change.
- Call boxes and intercoms
- A visitor calls a resident, who opens the gate by phone. Cellular and app-based units need no landline.
- Remotes and transmitters
- Handheld or visor remotes, sold in batches for communities. Brands we commonly see include LiftMaster, Linear and DoorKing.
- Card and fob readers
- Cards or tags for staff and residents. Easy to cancel if one is lost.
- Loop detectors
- Sense a car so the gate opens to exit and does not close on a vehicle.
- Community and commercial systems
- DoorKing and similar systems for HOAs and businesses, with directories, logs and multiple entry points.

HOAs, property managers and Central Texas weather
Community gates in Round Rock, Georgetown, Cedar Park and Lakeway carry heavy traffic, and one dead keypad affects everyone. We work with property managers and HOA boards on a single point of contact, itemized estimates and proof of insurance. Heat and rain are hard on keypads and call boxes, so we mount them in shaded, weather-rated housings where we can.

Questions people ask on the phone
How much does a gate keypad or intercom cost?
A keypad starts at $349 and an intercom or call box starts at $1,299, both installed. Wiring, cellular plans and multi-household directories add to the total, so we quote after seeing the site.
Can I open my gate from my phone?
Yes, with a cellular or app-based intercom or a compatible operator. We'll explain what works with your current gate before you buy.
Can you set up access control for an HOA?
Yes. We install call boxes, remotes and card readers for communities, and we can work with your property manager on code and remote management.
Why does my keypad stop working?
Common causes are water in the housing, a loose or corroded wire, a dead battery on wireless units, or a controller fault. We test each part before replacing anything.
Will access control work with my existing gate operator?
Most keypads and intercoms connect to common operators. We check compatibility before quoting and tell you if the operator needs a change.
