Builder-grade doors in the newer tracts
Production-built homes often come with a basic door, standard-cycle springs and a chain-drive opener. They work, but the springs are rated for roughly 10,000 cycles. A family that uses the garage as its main entrance can reach that sooner than you would guess. If a spring breaks, ask about high-cycle springs on the same visit.
HOA rules on replacement doors
Many Round Rock subdivisions require a replacement door to match the original style, color and window pattern. Check your covenants before you order a new door. We can quote a like-for-like replacement and give you the panel style and color to put in an HOA request.
Hot summers and storm season
Central Texas summers over 100 degrees fatigue springs and run opener motors hot. Storms bring power surges and the occasional hail event that can dent panels or push a door off its track. A surge protector on the opener is cheap and worth having.
Older openers in the Old Town streets
Homes near Main St and Old Town can still have openers from the 1990s and early 2000s, often with no battery backup and older safety sensors. If yours is slow, loud or reverses for no reason, a service call will tell you whether to repair it or replace it.
